- Support It is always a pleasure to see one of these images in FP. It is an insect that I like and that has always fascinated me since my childhood. See a male fly is amazing because it flies vertically with majesty. Contrary to what one might think the mandibles of the male are harmless, but not the female that are very effective. Thank you to Citron --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 09:12, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose while it is very well done quality-wise, the photo is very technical. --SuperJew (talk) 15:56, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose Interesting subject as usual, but the guy in the left is not really sharp in my eyes (see e.g. top part or neck), sorry Poco a poco (talk) 12:26, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose I have to agree with Poco a poco. For sure it is Valued image but not FP because of unsharpness of the left (male) creature. --Chmee2 (talk) 10:29, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Comment Please, see the file size 6 367 × 6 696 : if I resize at 2 000 x 2 000, the male will becomes sharp.--Citron (talk) 11:13, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Comment Hi Citron, I did it before my voting. When I looked to whole scale, I think that especially the area of mandibles is not sharp enough. The reason is low DOF in the time of taking the image. The right insect is really cool, but the left one might be better. Sorry --Chmee2 (talk) 12:45, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose The one on the right shows how the one on the left should be. For reproducible studio shots like this I can't really make any allowances for quality defects. --99of9 (talk) 21:32, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose per others. --Ivar (talk) 06:11, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
