- Oppose There dirty marks in the centre of the image. Perhaps something landed on your lens. For a firework on black background (rather than in a picturesque setting like a castle) I'd prefer to just see one kind of firework. The red fireworks on the bottom spoil the image and are cropped arbitrarily. Looking at the category, I see you've taken lots of QI images and they are nice to look at as a collection. But not really outstanding. For such a simple and common motif I'd want something excellent, than this just QI. The best way of adding wow to a firework is to take the image at a location that is scenic at night. I know I FPX'd your last image, so I'll not do that twice in a row (someone else might). Please have a look at the top-level category your nominations are in and consider whether this really is among the very select finest we have here, or just good. There's nothing wrong with achieving QI. -- Colin (talk) 12:35, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Colin: I don't think those are dirty marks, possibly smokes from fireworks explosion. -- KTC (talk) 01:40, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per Colin --Uoaei1 (talk) 13:00, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Neutral At least partly per Colin. --Tremonist (talk) 14:37, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose Having attempted a little fireworks photography myself, I appreciate the difficulties in timing and environmental factors not in the photographer's control. However, Colin is right that for a FP either the fireworks should be set against a picturesque background, or it needs to be technically perfect in terms of framing, timing, and isolation. (e.g. 1, 2, 3) Ideally for me, the exposure would had been started earlier so that the paths trace back to the same point, and the red fireworks at the bottom doesn't work for me either. -- KTC (talk) 01:40, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose Having also attempted a little fireworks photography, I agree with what KTC says. dllu (t,c) 02:54, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
