Description
English: L’Etivaz AOP is a hard alpine cheese, produced from 10 May to 10 October each year. Made from the raw milk of more than 2,800 cows who graze 130 alpine pastures located between 1,000 and 2,000 metres above sea level, it is produced exclusively in mountain chalets, where a wood fire heats the milk in a giant copper cauldron.
Deutsch: L’Etivaz AOP ist ein Hartkäse, der jährlich in der Zeit vom 10. Mai bis 10. Oktober aus der Rohmilch der mehr als 2.800 Kühe hergestellt wird, die auf 130 Bergwiesen in einer Höhe von 1.000 bis 2.000 Metern grasen. Er wird direkt vor Ort in den Berghütten produziert, wobei die Milch von einem Holzfeuer in riesigen Kupferkesseln erhitzt wird.
Français : L’Etivaz AOP est un fromage d’alpage à pâte dure qui est fabriqué entre le 10 mai et le 10 octobre à partir du lait cru fourni par plus de 2800 vaches paissant sur quelques 130 alpages situés entre 1’000 et 2’000 mètres d’altitude, chauffé exclusivement au feu de bois dans des chaudières en cuivre.
