English: Antonio Cortina Farinos: La Primavera, allegory of spring, oil on canvas glued to wood, 146 x 120 cm
It comes from demolition of the house no. 19 of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, once the residence of the photographer Antonio García Peris, father of painter Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida. The image was part of the allegory of the four seasons that decorated the wooden ceiling of the dining room and 1962 the painting was separated by the artist Luis Roig d'Alos. It is now part of the picture collection of Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia.
Español: Alegoría de La Primavera. Oleo/lienzo pegado a madera. 146x120 cms. Procede del derribo de la casa núm. 19 de la Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, donde vivió el fotógrafo Antonio García Peris, suegro del pintor Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. Formó parte de la alegoría de las cuatro estaciones que decoraban el techo del comedor; la pintura fue trasladada del techo a madera en 1962 por el artista Luis Roig d´Alós. Actualmente forma parte de la colección pictórica del Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia.
