AEthiopia Superior vel Interior; vulgo Abissinorum sive presbiteri Ioannis Imperium:. Deze kaart van Ethiopië werd in 1635 gepubliceerd door Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638). Het is niet bekend aan welke geografische bron Blaeu deze kaart ontleende. In de latijnse titel van de kaart wordt verwezen naar Pape Jan, een katholieke priester die een christelijk rijk gesticht zou hebben in Afrika. Cf. Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Den Haag, inv. nr. 185 B 11 deel I, na p. 666.English: Map of a part of Africa.
AEthiopia Superior vel Interior; vulgo Abissinorum sive presbiteri Ioannis Imperium:. This map of Ethiopia was published in 1635 by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638). It is not known which geographical source Blaeu used to compile the chart. The Latin title of the map makes reference to Pape Jan, a Catholic priest said to have founded a Christian state in Africa.
