Object history
Deutsch: Der goldene Wellenbalken kennzeichnet die Lage der Gemeinde an der Donau und erinnert an die noch um 1800 an den vielen, breit ausgreifenden Armen des Augebietes betriebene Goldwäscherei aus dem Flusssand; ebenso findet die Fischerei als ehemals bedeutender Erwerbszweig der Bewohner im Gemeindewappen ihren Niederschlag. Das Schwert steht als Symbol für den Pfarrpatron, den hl. Alban von England, der als römischer Soldat im Jahre 303 in Verulam gemartert und enthauptet wurde.
