Description
English: Adult male Green-eyed Hawker (Aeshna isoceles); short resting in the late afternoon.
Deutsch: Älteres (oder zumindest schon etwas zerzaustes) Männchen der Keilfleck-Mosaikjungfer (Aeshna isoceles) am Ufer eines Weihers in der Elbtalaue. Das Tier hat sich nachmittags bei Sonnenschein nur manchmal und jeweils sehr kurzzeitig an die Ufervegetation gesetzt – meist wurde es dabei durch anwesende Vierflecke (Libellula quadrimaculata) und Spitzenflecke (Libellula fulva) gestört. Namensgebend im Deutschen war der keilförmige gelbe Fleck auf dem zweiten Abdominalsegment. Der englische Name passt angesichts der markant grünen Augen aber auch gut.
