Deutsch: Wappen der Stadt Alūksne (Marienburg), Lettland.
„Im purpurroten Feld zwei gekreuzte silberne Schwerter mit goldenen Griffen, belegt mit einer goldbeschlagenen schwarzen Bibel mit der Inschrift «A.D.1689».“

Purpura laukā melna grāmata, Bībele ar zelta rotājumu un tādu pašu uzrakstu "A.D.1689.", virs diviem krustotiem zobeniem ar zelta rokturi.
Polski: Herb miasta Alkunses w Łotwie.
Русский: Герб города Алуксне, Латвия.
В пурпурном поле черная книга - Библия в золотой оправе и надписью "A.D./1689" того же цвета, за книгой перекрещены два серебряных меча с золотыми рукоятями.

Библия символизирует жившего в Алуксне лютеранского учителя Йоганна Эрнста Глюка, который в 1689 году закончил первый перевод Библии на латышский язык.

Примечание: интересна судьба самого Й. Э. Глюка - в 1704 году российские войска заняли Алуксне (тогда по-немецки называемую Мариенбург) и угнали в плен все ее население, включая Глюка и его семью. Воспитанница Глюка, Марта Скавронска впоследствии стала императрицей Екатериной I. Ее опекуна царь Петр I назначил ректором Московской гимназии, но тот в 1705 году скончался. Мечи символизируют многочисленные сражения в истории Алуксне.[1]
