Description
Español: Retrato del pintor español Antonio González Velázquez (1723-1793). El retratado aparece de medio cuerpo, con la paleta y los pinceles en las manos, sentado en una silla tosca, junto a una mesa en la que se aprecian distintos objetos, entre ellos sus lentes. Posee una figura corpulenta, ostenta peluca, con lazo y coleta que caen por la espalda y el hombro izquierdo, sobre una cabeza grande y rostro de facciones anchas y notable papada. Viste una amplia casaca, con camisa abierta ribeteada de encajes que combinan con los de los puños. El cromatismo es rico y diversificado, armonizando el del atuendo con la cortina adamascada amarilla, que enriquece la composición. No existe ninguna tendencia a la idealización o a la autolisonja, ni tampoco se advierte el deseo de agradar a un supuesto espectador.
