Description
Español: Retrato del marino español Antonio Valdés y Fernández Bazán (1744-1816), que fue capitán general de la Real Armada Española y también secretario de Estado y del Despacho Universal de Marina. Esta obra, que es una copia realizada posiblemente en 1828 por Rafael Tejeo a partir de un original de hacia 1788, ingresó en el Museo Naval de Madrid en 1844, procedente de la Secretaría de Marina, y fue restaurada en 1993. Además, el retratado aparece de pie y vistiendo uniforme grande de jefe de escuadra de la Real Armada Española, junto con la cruz y la venera de caballero de la Orden de Malta, aunque los tres galones que luce en las bocamangas de su uniforme y que eran privativas de los directores generales de la Armada, fueron añadidas por el copista en 1828.
