Description
English: Workers at the excavations of the ruins of Aranäs Castle at Årnäs by Lake Vänern. The Castle - probably from the 13th century - plays a central role in Jan Guillous' novels about Arn - The Knight Templar. The castle ruins were excavated the first time in 1916-1925 by the archaeologists Bror Schnittger and Hanna Rydh.
Svenska: Arbetare vid utgrävningen av ruinerna av Aranäsborgen vid Årnäs vid Vänern. Borgen - från 1200-talet - spelar en central roll i Jan Guillous böcker om tempelriddaren Arn. Borgruinen undersöktes första gången 1916-1925 av arkeologerna Bror Schnittger och Hanna Rydh.
