Description
Nederlands: Mesheft van een koperlegering in de vorm van een asperge, gevonden in Elst (Overbetuwe) bij de opgraving van een Bataafse nederzeting uit de Romeinse tijd. Het mesheft is gegoten in de onmiskenbare vorm van een asperge en is het afgietsel van een echte asperge, waar eerst een mal van klei omheen is gemaakt die vervolgens is gebakken en met gesmolten metaal is gevuld. Uit de kleine zijtakjes blijkt dat de asperge die model stond, al boven de grond was uitgegroeid en dus groen was. Afmetingen: hoogte 10.4 cm
