English: British troops clearing mines from the road, covered by two Ferret armoured cars and a Beaver AL.1 patrol aircraft in south of Yemen.
فارسی: بریتانیا بعد از جنگ جهانی دوم سعی در حضور در شبه جزیره عربستان داشت. از این رو در یمن و عمان اقدام به احداث پایگاه‌های نظامی متعددی نمود. حضور بریتانیا در این منطقه مورد مخالفت شدید کشورهای خاورمیانه قرار گرفت و چندین جنگ بین این کشورها با ارتش بریتانیا درگرفت. در نهایت بریتانیا در سال ۱۹۷۲ به کلی از شبه جزیره عربستان عقب‌نشینی کرد.
