Description |
English: Photo of an exhibit at en:Museum of Islamic Art, Doha
Bucket, Egypt or Syria, Mid-14th century, Mamluk, Guilded and Enamel Glass, With only four other glass buckets known to exist, this bucket is a true rarity, although the technical and stylistic methods are common. It would have been used as a finger bowl, with its inscription the same as found on brass finger bowls. Every design element can be found on other pieces of 13th and 14th century enamelled glass, from the thick enamel to the motive details |
