Description |
Józef Mehoffer depicts the Holy Family with ox and donkey in the right lancet window. Elements of folk art characterise the picture. It is reminiscent of folk nativity scenes and traditional Christmas performances that took place in Poland. The Art Nouveau style is announced in some details of the decoration, such as the pastel shades, while the strong colours correspond more to the folk culture. |

Notes | The execution of the thirteen stained glass windows of Freiburg Cathedral extends from 1895 to 1936. This work thus documents the stained glass of Jósef Mehoffer in a unique way. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
