Description |
The cut-out shows Saint Mauritius as the leader of the Theban Legion, which was Christian. According to legend, the Christian legion mutinied when they were to be deployed to fight Christian troops. Emperor Maximinian had them all killed in the narrows of Agaunum (today St Maurice). |

Object history | The window was designed by Jósef Mehoffer. The stained glass window was made by the Freiburg stained glass workshop Kirsch & Fleckner, which presented the window at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, where it was awarded a gold medal | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
