Title
"Portrait of the Crown Prince of Sardinia at the age of 28 years , 1729"
Description
English: Portrait of Vittorio Amadeo III of Sardinia (1726-1796), misidentified with his father Carlo Emanuele III of Sardinia (1701-1773).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of Vittorio Amadeo (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to verified representations of Carlo Emanuele.
Date dated on the auction website as a work of 1729, but based on the sitter's clothing and hairstyle it can be dated to around 1740
