Español: Escudo de armas de Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger como cardenal de la Iglesia católica romana.

Escudo cuartelado;

  • Cuarteles 1 y 4: "moro de Frisinga", la cabeza del moro es el antiguo emblema de la diócesis de Frisinga, fundada en el siglo 8, que se convirtió en una Arquidiócesis Metropolitana con el nombre de Munich y Frisinga en 1818.
  • Cuartel 2: el Oso de San Corbiniano, patrón de la Arquidiócesis de Munich y Freising.
  • Cuartel 3: una Venera, que significa la peregrinación. También alude a una leyenda sobre San Agustín. La Venera se encuentra también en las armas de Schottenkirche, Ratisbona, en el que Ratzinger inició su carrera como sacerdote.
