Deutsch: Vorderseite: CONSTANT-IVS P F AVG. Drapierte Panzerbüste des Constantius II. mit Diadem in der Brustansicht nach l. Er hält in seiner r. Hand einen Globus.
Rückseite: FEL TEMP REPAR-ATIO // AQP Punkt [Felicium temporum reparatio = Die Wiederherstellung glücklicher Zeiten]. Der Kaiser, r. in Rüstung in der Vorderansicht mit einem Speer (Spitze aufwärts) in der l. Hand und zurückgewandtem Kopf, führt mit seiner r. Hand einen Barbaren aus seiner Hütte nach r. ab. Hinter der Hütte ein Baum. Kommentar: Die Rückseite bezieht sich nicht auf eine friedliche Umsiedlung (K. Kraft, JNG 9, 1958, 141 ff.), sondern zeigt die Wegführung eines gefangenen und gefesselten Barbaren im Rahmen des Krieges des Constans gegen die Franken 341/342 n. Chr. (W. Weiser, SNR 66, 1987, 165-170). - Zur Benennung als Maiorina: RIC VIII S. 60; M. R.-Alföldi, JNG 13, 1963, 102 f. - Datierung der Fel Temp Rep-Serie ab 348 n. Chr. anläßlich der 1100-Jahrfeier Roms: RIC VIII S. 34 f.; J. P. C. Kent, NC 1967, 83 ff. - Flavius Iulius Constantius war der zweite von drei Söhnen des Constantinus I. und der Fausta. Er wurde am 7.8.317 n. Chr. in Sirmium geboren. Am 8.11.324 n. Chr. erhielt Constantius den Rang eines Caesar, ab dem 9.9.337 teilte er sich als Augustus die Herrschaft mit seinen Brüdern. Nach dem Tod des Constantinus II. im Jahre 340 und des Constans 350 n. Chr. war er der einzige überlebende Sohn des Constantinus I. Erfolgreich konnte er die Usurpation des Magnentius 353 niederwerfen und ernannte erst Constantius Gallus, dann Iulianus zu seinem Mitherrscher. Während der Vorbereitungen zum Kampf mit dem von seinen Truppen zum Augustus ausgerufenen Iulianus starb Constantius II. am 3.11.361 n. Chr. nahe Tarsos in Kilikien. Obwohl Constantius schon während seiner Herrschaft das Christentum tatkräftig unterstützt hatte, ließ er sich wie sein Vater erst auf dem Totenbett taufen. Literatur: RIC VIII Nr. 102 (348-350 n.
