Object history
Deutsch: Oberstadion war der namengebende Stammsitz der ausgestorbenen Grafen von Stadion. Seit 1936 ist deren Stammwappen in den Gemeindesiegeln zu sehen. Da das Adelswappen um 1340 mit schwarzen Wolfsangeln im goldenen Schild, später aber durchweg mit vertauschten Farben überliefert ist, traten diese beiden Spielarten zunächst auch beim Gemeindewappen auf. Im Jahre 1952 erlangte die Gemeinde die Erlaubnis der letzten damals noch lebenden Nachfahrin des gräflichen Hauses zur Übernahme des Wappens. Es wurde vom Innenministerium am 21. Januar 1954 in der oben beschriebenen Form verliehen. Die Verleihung der Flagge durch das Landratsamt kam indessen erst am 27. Januar 1982 zustande.
