English: The surgeon's consultation room on a painting by Balthasar van den Bossche; depicts the painful removal of a sticking plaster.
Deutsch: Balthasar van den Bossche: „Das Ordinationszimmer des Chirurgen" (1707). Neben den gelehrten Doktoren spielten die Chirurgen eine sehr wichtige Rolle. Sie wurden in den meisten Ländern in Zünften ausgebildet und waren Zunftmitglieder. Auf dem dunklen Gemälde von Balthasar van den Bossche (1681-1715), einem 'Maler aus Antwerpen, sieht man gut, wie schmerzhaft die Abnahme des Pflasters ist. Dieses „Ordinationszimmer" wirkt nicht so sehr durch seine Bücher und andere „gelehrten" Einrichtungsgegenstände, als durch eine gewisse mystische Stimmung. Vielleicht dient sogar der farbige Papagei dazu, diese Stimmung zu verstärken. (cited from source) |
