Description
Nederlands: De virginaalspeelster. Interieur met een jonge vrouw spelend op een virginaal. De deksel van het instrument is beschilderd met een voorstelling van een paar in een landschap, op de deksel zit een aap. Achter de virginaal staan een jongetje en een meisje, vermoedelijk een jonger broertje en zusje van de schilder. Rechts een doorkijk naar een man die in de deuropening staat. Aan het plafond hangt een vogelkooi. Vroeger geïnterpreteerd als een portret van Judith Leyster, de echtgenote van de schilder, met haar kinderen.
