Summary

English: Coat of arms of the U.S. Western Dominican province (Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus). The shield has a version of one historical Dominican coat of arms (sable, a pile inverted argent) in the first and fourth quarters, and the name symbol IHS in medieval script in the second and third quarters. The cross from the other historical Dominican coat of arms (gyronny of sable and argent, a cross flory counterchanged) is the sole supporter, and the motto is "Veritas" (Latin for "truth"). |
