Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A colored Photochrom print version of a panorama of Edo (now Tokyo) showing daimyo residences, Japan. Original Beato's title: Panorama of Yedo from Atagoyama. Following the end of the Shogunate in 1867, the daimyo residences in Edo (now Tokyo) were razed so that government, commercial and industrial buildings could be built in their place (Modot, p. 528). The location from which the photographs were taken corresponds to Atago Shrine in Minato, Tokyo, Japan.
