Description
English: So-called Portrait of Eleonora Gonzaga (1598-1655), widow of Emperor Ferdinand II (1578-1637), but is probably a depiction of her grandmother Archduchess Eleanor of Austria (1534-1594), widow of Guglielmo Gonzaga (1538-1587).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with a portrait of Eleanor of Austria (see image below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to verified representations of Eleonora Gonzaga.
