| Description |
English: Demonstration of effects of a light diffuser in close-up photography. Left a flowering plant of Cross-leaved Heath (Erica tetralix) in direct sunlight. With the help of a diffuser (in this case a white fabric-covered "studio umbrella") then the plant – not the background – was shaded artificially. The result is shown in the right image. Both photos have pros and cons: The left one might look more "natural" and "true" but also a bit harsh contrasted. The right one has a very different mood of lights and colours, and certain morphological details stand out more.
Deutsch: Demonstration der Wirkung eines Lichtdiffusors in der Nahfotografie. Links eine blühende Glocken-Heide (Erica tetralix) im direkten Sonnenlicht. Mit Hilfe eines Diffusors (in dem Fall ein mit weißem Stoff bespannter "Studioschirm"/Durchlichtschirm) wurde dann die Pflanze – aber nicht der Hintergrund – künstlich abgeschattet. Das Ergebnis ist im rechten Foto zu sehen. Beide Bilder haben Vor- und Nachteile: Das linke erscheint vielleicht etwas "wirklichkeitsnäher", weist aber auch einige harte Spitzlicht-Schlagschatten-Kontraste auf. Das rechte hat eine ganz andere, harmonischere Licht- und Farbstimmung; bestimmte morphologische Details werden besser hervorgehoben. Allerdings hatte sich durch den Diffusor die Belichtungszeit etwa vervierfacht, was bei einigen anderen Bildern der Serie schon deutliche Verwacklungen durch Wind zur Folge hatte. |
