Cuartel superior siniestro. Lado superior izquierdo de quién mira. Sobre fondo plata y en esmalte ladrillo, el perfil de la Catedral de la Diócesis de Girardota con la torre enfrentada hacia el cuartel diestro [...]. Cuartel superior diestro. Lado superior derecho de quién mira. Sobre fondo Gules (Rojo), una cornucopia en oro, de la cual brotan frutos de la región[...]. Cuartel inferior. Sobre fondo Azur (Azul), el río Medellín atravesando un valle entre sendas montañas en Sinople (Verde)[...]. Sobre esta última la figura de un cuervo en Sable (Negro), que monta guardia mirando hacia la cordillera Occidental. [...] Divisa. En la parte superior del escudo está colocada una banda en oro, en la que se lee la divisa "HOGAR Y TRABAJO", características que siempre han distinguido a los hijos de Girardota. Base o Pedestal. El escudo de Girardota con su respectiva banda va montado sobre un pedestal en esmalte sable. El blasón y divisiones del campo. Es de estilo francés. Su campo es cortado y partido en la parte superior, formando tres cuarteles así: dos cuarteles en la parte superior y un cuartel en la parte inferior. [1]
