Ге Н. Н. Голова Иоанна Богослова

Ге Николай Николаевич. Голова Иоанна Богослова. Этюд для картины 1863 "Тайная вечерня". Холст, масло. 36 х 31. Картина "Тайная вечеря", этюдом к которой является данная работа, стала первым крупным самостоятельным произведением художника, созданным им после окончания Академии художеств. На лице апостола Иоанна - сложная гамма чувств, что свидетельствует о стремлении художника к достоверности в трактовке изображенного события. Образ Иоанна художник писал со своей жены.

Поступила в государственный Русский музей в 1920 году из собрания А.А. Коровина.
