Deutsch: Beschreibung aus Karl Woermanns Galeriekatalog 1887: Christus mit den Erlösten der Vorhölle vor seiner Mutter. Der Heiland steht, leicht von weissem Tuche umwallt, mit erhobener Rechten in der Mitte des Bildes vor seiner Mutter, die rechts am Betpulte kniet, erschreckt zurückfährt und traurig und liebevoll zu ihm aufblickt. Links hinter dem Heiland sitzen Adam und Eva, kniet Johannes der Täufer, stehen Moses und Aaron und blicken noch vier andere Partriarchenköpfe herüber. Rechts erscheint Abraham und Isaak, ferner Noah mit seiner Arche, David mit seiner Krone und der reuige Schächer mit seinem Kreuze. Bez. u. l. (nur notdürftig erhalten): A. V… F. Leinwand; h. 2,37½ m; br. 2,54 m
