Español: Esta obra es una de las piezas más destacadas del Museo Lazaro Galdiano. Las múltiples empresas a las que se dedicó Leonardo da Vinci explican que su obra pictórica autógrafa sea muy reducida, y muchos de los «originales perdidos» que se le atribuyen para explicar la génesis de tantas obras leonardescas fueron dibujos y no pinturas, como en el caso de esta obra, que posiblemente fue realizada en la última década del siglo XV por Boltraffio, el más distinguido discípulo milanés de Leonardo da Vinci, basándose en un diseño original de su maestro y bajo su dirección.
