Nederlands: George Hendrik Breitner (1857-1923) is een bekende Nederlandse kunstschilder en fotograaf. In de jaren 1893-94 schildert hij zeven verschillende schilderijen met een meisje in een kimono. Waarschijnlijk is het meisje op dit schilderij Geesje Kwak, een model dat in deze tijd vaker voor Breitner poseert.
English: George Hendrik Breitner (1857-1923) is a well-known Dutch painter and photographer. In the years 1893-94 he made seven different paintings of a girl in a kimono. The girl on the painting is probably Geesje Kwak, who often posed for Breitner in those years.
