Description
English: Girl with cyclamen. Oil on gold leaf on canvas. Signed upper right: "Walter Gramatté-Friedman / 1921".

The painting was soon after its creation aquired from the artist by Dr. Felix Emmel, Berlin and Hiddensee. Emmel also bought Gramatté's Convalescent, another painting on gold leaf.

The "girl" depicted on both paintings is of course Sophie-Carmen (Sonia) Gramatté née Fridman whom Gramatté had married in 1920.
Deutsch: Mädchen mit Alpenveilchen. Öl auf Goldgrund auf Leinwand. Signiert rechts oben: "Walter Gramatté-Friedmann / 1921".

Das Bild wurde bald nach seiner Entstehung erworben von Dr. Felix Emmel, Berlin and Hiddensee. Emmel kaufte auch Gramattés "Die Genesende", ein weiteres Gemälde auf Goldgrund.

Das auf beiden Bilder abgebildete Mädchen ist natürlich Sophie-Carmen (Sonia) Gramatté geborene Fridman, die Gramatté 1920 geheiratet hatte.
