JPEG file comment | GULÁCSY Lajos
(1882, Budapest - 1932, Budapest) Chevalier aux Roses 1914 Olaj, vászon, 170 x 103 cm Magyar Nemzeti Galéria, Budapest Amikor Gulácsyn az elmezavar tünetei jelentkeztek, egyes korábbi mûveit átfestette vagy átalakította. Igy történt a Rokokó koncerttel is, amelyet Watteau szellemében 1913-ban festett meg. A képet három részre vágta, a középsõ részt eldobta, a másik kettõbõl lett a Chevalier aux Roses és az Ópiumszívó álma. GULÁCSY, Lajos (1882, Budapest - 1932, Budapest) Chevalier aux Roses 1914 Oil on canvas, 170 x 103 cm Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest When Gulácsy showed signs of derangement, he tended to repaint and transform some of his early works. Rococo Concerto (1913), for example, which he had executed in the spirit of Watteau, was cut into three. The centre of the picture was discarded, and the two remaining parts became Chevalier aux Roses (1914) and the Opium Smoker's Dream (1913-18). Type: other Time-line: 1901-1925 Form: painting |
