Description
Hansen made two very similar versions of this scene - the other is at the museum at Frederiksborg. The history painting shows a scene from around 1591 with the author Anders Sørensen Vedel presenting his book of old Danish Folk Songs (printed in 1591) to the dowager queen Sophie. The scene is at Uranienborg on Ven, and its owner, Tycho Brahe is standing next to the two.
