Français : Portrait de Louise Lardy, épouse de Pierre-Marie Desmarets. Louise Lardy, de nationalité suisse comme le rappelle l'arrière-plan de montagnes des Alpes, fut l'épouse de Pierre-Marie Desmarets (1764-1832). Elle est représentée tenant une bible à la main. Ecclésiastique sous la révolution, Desmarets abandonna les ordres pour devenir tout d'abord fournisseur aux armées impériales puis chef de la première division de la Police générale, sous Fouché. Le couple eut quatre enfants, dont une fille qui épousa l'artiste Edouard Cibot.
