Notes Using the names of the Ateneum line engraving version. The 1948 book also uses "perunankuorija". I considered translating Hagelstam’s “perunaeukko” as “potato grandma”, but it didn’t sound right. The frame has the words “akka ja kuolema” on the back in any case.

The frame also has remains of the markings of an exhibition at Ateneum in 1963. Although Hagelstam sold a forged Simberg in the same year: https://www.hs.fi/kulttuuri/art-2000005909401.html, this tempera work appears to have credible history.
