English: The bug Water measurer (Hydrometra stagnorum) on the surface of a pond. In front some thalli of the floating liverwort Ricciocarpos natans.
Deutsch: Der Teichläufer (Hydrometra stagnorum) ist eine von zwei mitteleuropäischen Arten der Gattung Hydrometra. Wie ihre Verwandten, die Wasserläufer (Gerris spp.), halten sich diese grazilen Wanzen auf der Oberfläche von Gewässern auf, wo sie Wasserinsekten und ins Wasser gefallene Tierchen erbeuten und mit ihrem langen Stechrüssel aussaugen. Anders als die Wasserläufer sind sie eher träge und langsam in der Fortbewegung, da sie ihren Körper deutlich von der Wasseroberfläche abheben. Bei dem Treibgut auf dem Bild handelt es sich u. a. um Thalli des Lebermooses Ricciocarpos natans (vorne) und um Sprossglieder der Kleinen Wasserlinse (Lemna minor). |
