JPEG file comment | IVÁNYI GRÜNWALD Béla
(1867, Somogysom - 1940, Budapest) Festmény a Schiffer villába 1912 Olaj, vászon, 131 x 360 cm Magyar Nemzeti Galéria, Budapest A 20. század elsõ elején sok kitûnõ építész mûködött Budapesten, akik terveikben érdekesen kombinálták a 19. század végi eklektikát a nemzetközi és magyar Art Nouveau elemekkel. Vágó József Schiffer villája (1910-12) jó példája a korabeli törekvéseknek. IVÁNYI GRÜNWALD, Béla (1867, Somogysom - 1940, Budapest) Painting for the Schiffer Villa 1912 Oil on canvas, 131 x 360 cm Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest There were many fine architects working in Budapest at the beginning of the 20th century whose designs evidence a fascinating combination of late nineteenth-century Eclecticism and elements of international and Hungarian Art Nouveau. József Vágo's Schiffer Villa (1910-12) is an excellent example of contemporary aspirations, and brought together such great artists as Károly Kernstok, who designed the glass windows, and István Csók, Béla Iványi Grünwald and József Rippl-Rónai, who painted the interior panels. Such collaboration between artists and architects changed the face of Budapest, to create a pleasant and inspiring environment in tune with the new bourgeois, middle-class way of life.
