Description
Etching of Jesse Baughman (6/11/1802-12/31/1878), born to George and Barbara (Steele) Baughman. Jesse came to Mifflin township in 1805. He married Catherine Terney in 1825. His second wife was Mary Albery. He served as Franklin County Commissioner for one term from 1853-1854. In 1853 Jesse founded the village of Bridgeport, which became Gahanna on 10/6/1881. Baughman built Mifflin township's first gristmill in 1859.
