One of several drawn for the article: "The Noiseless Suffragette," by George Fitch describing the successful efforts in 1912 of four women to persuade the Illinois Legislature to pass a law giving women the right to vote. The woman mopping her eyes is Grace Wilbur Trout, president of the State Equal Suffrage Association. Published in: Colliers, v. 51, Aug. 9, 1913 with caption: She cried.
