Reason: Incorrect artist attribution; Artnet appears to have misidentified the artist. A colour-tinted black and white image from Salon de 1884 on Internet Archive found here clearly shows a wider view of the same painting; the full-size image can be viewed here. The original caption beneath the image identifies the painting as Cyané by Jenoudet (P); the signature at bottom right begins "P. Jenoud" although the end of the signature is obscured. |
