Description
English: A portrait of King Chulalongkorn which he gave to his younger brother, Damrong Rachanuphap. A statement accompanying it says: "On Sunday, 26 June 129 RE [1910 CE], His Majesty the King, upon his arrival in this room, removed a ring from his finger and declared: 'Krom Damrong, you and me are like a long married couple. Please accept this very ring, a personal ring of mine, as your birthday gift, together with this portrait which I took when I reached the same age as Phra Phutthaloetla, which is considered great auspices. May you be blessed with happiness, prosperity, and security, as well as longevity, so that you would be able to stay with me and help me take care of the country further.'"
ไทย: "ณวันอาทีตย์ที่ ๒๖ มิถุนายน ร,ศ, ๑๒๙ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวเสด็จมาถึงห้องนี้ ถอดพระธำมะรงค์จากนิ้วพระหัดถ์ แล้วมีรับสั่งว่า 'กรมดำรง เธอกับฉันเหมือนกับได้แต่งงานกันมานานแล้ว ฃอให้เธอรับแหวนวงนี้ เปนแหวนที่ฉันได้ใส่อยู่เอง ไว้เปนของขวัญในวันเกีด กับรูปที่ฉันถ่ายเมื่ออายุเท่าพระพุทธเลิศหล้า อันนับว่าเปนสวัสดิมงคล ฃอให้เธอมีความศุฃความเจริญมั่นคง แลให้อายุยืน จะได้อยู่ชว่ยกันรักษาแผ่นดินต่อไป.'"
