Description
English: Phra Sophon-aksonkit (Lek Samitasiri), a royal printer of Siam & official at the Ministry of the Royal Household of Siam. He was born on 1 February 2417 BE (1875 CE) at his family in Wat Thong Nopphakhun District, Thon Buri Province (present-day Thon Buri District, Bangkok). His father is Sunheng Samitasiri and his mother is Li Samitasiri. Four months after his birth, his father died; and ten months later, his mother died; so he was raised by his maternal grandmother, Pin Chuengyaempin. He studied at Wat Chakkrawat Rachawat School when Khun Anukitwithun (Noi Chunlawithun) was its headmaster. He married Yin Chunlawithun, owner of a printing house on Tri Phet Road (later known as Sophon Phiphat Thanakon Printing House), and had 7 children with her. He also had other wives, with whom he had 16 other children. He suffered various illnesses, including diabetes and hypertension, and died at Chulalongkorn Hospital on 11 March 2491 BE (1948 CE).
ไทย: พระโสภณอักษรกิจ (เล็ก สมิตะสิริ) ผู้พิมพ์หลวง สังกัดกระทรวงวัง เกิด ๑ กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. ๒๔๑๗ ที่บ้าน ณ ตำบลวัดทองนพคุณ จังหวัดธนบุรี เป็นบุตรของนายซุ่นเฮง กับนางลี้ สมิตะสิริ เกิดได้ ๔ เดือนบิดาก็ตาย อีก ๑๐ เดือนล่วงมา มารดาก็ตายตาม นางปิ่น จึงแย้มปิ่น ยาย จึงเลี้ยงมาจนโต เรียนหนังสือไทยที่โรงเรียนวัดจักรวรรดิ์ราชาวาสสมัยที่ขุนอนุกิจวิธูร (น้อย จุลวิธูร) เป็นอาจารย์ใหญ่ สมรสกับนางสาวหยิน จุลวิธูร เจ้าของโรงพิมพ์ที่ถนนตรีเพ็ชร (ภายหลังคือโรงพิมพ์โสภณพิพรรฒธนากร) มีบุตรด้วย ๗ คน และยังมีภริยาอื่นอีก มีบุตรด้วยกัน ๑๖ คน ตายที่โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์เมื่อ ๑๑ มีนาคม พ.ศ. ๒๔๙๑ เนื่องจากหลายโรครุมเร้า ทั้งเบาหวาน ความดันโลหิตสูง ฯลฯ
