Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The two first volumes of the edition of Giacomo Leopardi’s Opere (“Works”) which was printed by Saverio Starita in Naples (1835). It was the last edition of Leopardi’s works which appeared during his lifetime. The first volume contains the Canti, the second contains the Operette morali, first part. The second part of the Operette never appeared in this edition, because the Bourbonian censors prohibited the complete edition and confiscated the volumes already printed. Therefore the two volumes shown here are rather rare today.
