English: Mating wheel (copulation) of the Scarce Chaser (Libellula fulva).
Deutsch: Paarungsrad (Kopulation) des Spitzenflecks (Libellula fulva) an Kanalufer. Die namensgebende Fleckung an den Flügelspitzen dieser Großlibellen ist hier sowohl beim Männchen (oben) als auch beim Weibchen gut zu erkennen. Das offenbar schon ältere Weibchen sieht etwas lädiert aus (Spitze des linken Vorderflügels fehlt). Interessanterweise zeigt es ebenfalls eine gewisse Blaufärbung, allerdings wohl nur an der Abdomenunterseite. Beim Männchen ist zu sehen, wie die sogenannten Kopulationsmarken zustande kommen, also der Abrieb der blauen Bereifung in der Abdomenmitte: Verursacher ist das Weibchen, das sich in diesem Bereich festhält und die "Wachs"schicht mit den Beinschienen abreibt. Einige Augenblicke nach dieser Aufnahme begannen beide synchron mit den Flügeln zu vibrieren (Aufwärmen/Durchbluten der Flugmuskeln), um dann gemeinsam etwas schwerfällig vom Blatt abzuheben. |
