Description
English: Adult male Scarce Chaser (Libellula fulva). Note the clearly visible spotting on the wing tips of this dragonfly (for males sometimes only weak or maybe totally absent).
Deutsch: Reifes Männchen des Spitzenflecks (Libellula fulva). Die namensgebende Fleckung an den Flügelspitzen dieser Großlibelle ist sehr gut erkennbar (bei Männchen sonst aber manchmal nur schwach ausgeprägt oder sogar fehlend). Das Tier sitzt sonnenbadend auf einem Seggenblatt (Carex sp.) am Flussufer. Der dunkel erscheinende Abrieb der Blaubereifung in der Mitte des Abdomens weist darauf hin, dass sich dieses Männchen bereits mindestens mit einem Weibchen verpaart hat (sog. Kopulationsmarken). An den Stellen hatte sich das Weibchen während des Paarungsrades festgekrallt.
