Notes |
Friedländer, Rosenberg (1978) Nr.: FR421 Jobst von Hain (- 1550) was Electoral Saxon counsellor and later chancellor and belonged to the inner circle of John Frederick I, Elector of Saxony, known as John Frederick the Magnanimous. Taken prisoner alongside the elector in the Battle of Mühlberg (1547), Hayn later continued to serve John Frederick's sons until 1549. The sitter is clearly identified by his eignet ring, which is also vorn by his wife. |
