Description
Polski: Marię Gralewską – córkę krakowskiego aptekarza – Jacek Malczewski poznał w 1886 roku w Zakopanem. Była to według niego „prześliczna blondynka – poczciwa, naturalna, miła i nadzwyczaj dystyngowana”. W okresie narzeczeństwa poświęcił jej jeden z najpiękniejszych w swoim dorobku artystycznym obrazów. Ślub odbył się 29 października 1887 roku w Kościele Mariackim w Krakowie. Ceremonię prowadził ksiądz infułat Ludwik Bober. Pannę młodą do ołtarza prowadził książę Marceli Czartoryski i ojciec, a pana młodego księżna Marcelina Czartoryska i pani Józefa Gralewska. Drużbą Malczewskiego był Karol Potkański. Po ceremonii kościelnej gości podjęli rodzice panny młodej. Państwo Malczewscy zamieszkali w kamienicy żony, w Krakowie przy ul. Szczepańskiej 1. Stworzyli związek pełen sprzeczności i konfliktów, ale również pełen miłości. (Urszula Kozakowska-Zaucha)
