Deutsch: "Die Kurfürstin Maria Amalia, eine österreichische Prinzessin, führte seit der Kaiserkrönung ihres Gemahls, des bayerischen Kurfürsten Karl Albrecht, ab 1742 auch den Titel einer Kaiserin, unter der sie in der Chronik der Salesianerinnen stets bezeich-net wird. Sie war dem Münchner Heimsuchungskloster eng ver-bunden, besuchte die Schwestern häufig und verbrachte ganze Tage bei ihnen fernab vom Hof-zeremoniell. Das Gemälde, das sie kurz vor ihrem Tod dem Münchner Kloster schenkte, zeigt sie in schwarzer Witwen-kleidung mit der römischdeut-schen Kaiserkrone als Zeichen ihres Standes." |
