Description
English: Portrait of Maria Antonia of Spain (1729-1785), wife of Victor Amadeus III.
Italiano: Il dipinto, del quale non è noto l'autore, rappresenta Maria Antonia Ferdinanda di Borbone-Spagna (1729-1785), moglie di Vittorio Amedeo III, seduta con un ventaglio nella mano destra. A lato si scorge la corona regale, la cui presenza - unitamente all'età avanzata del soggetto - induce a datare l'opera dopo il 1773, data di ascesa al trono del consorte, all'ultimo quarto del XVIII secolo. Il dipinto, come gli altri due ritratti presenti nella stanza, è inserito in un elegante trumeau e racchiuso da una ricca cornice, "in legno modanato e dorato, con grandi fiori e nastri alla base e alla sommità" (cfr. inventario 1966), realizzati da Francesco Bolgiè nel 1789 e, come testimoniano gli inventari storici, dal 1881 ad oggi probabilmente non subì spostamenti.
